ZUMBA for business? YES!

Advertisements

I am always amazing, that is my homeostasis! as most of you know by now. I am bringing this energy to you with a sense of euphoric, adrenaline, and endorphins because of Zumba. I really want to dive in and explain why this is key (movement) not only to your wellness and your overall health but for your business health!

Recently, I went to my doctor’s appointment and as I was leaving, I met Jaidira she was outside the office area and handing out information about her classes. I looked her up and checked out her Instagram and wanted to give it a whirl for my continuous #Fannytasticlife journey!

I decided to recruit my sons, and my middle guy stepped up. That’s right Mr_Bulbs himself! He was very excited and truly inspired to make it happen, and keep it going.

ZUMBA mania!

Mr_Bulbs

Mr. Bulbs was down for the Zumba challenge. We had so much fun! We have committed to the monday classes. Exciting and so much fun!

Yasss, we posted this on the gram folks! Fannytasticlife

Mr_Bulbs, himself joined me in ZUMBA!

I explained the origin of Zumba, which is a collaboration of music that was generated by Alberto “Beto” Perez who initiated the Latin dance class, which is now known as Zumba in his aerobics. According to Murphy, 2018 the “class in Cali, Colombia in 1986. Perez arrived to teach class one day without his traditional aerobics music, so he substituted Latin music he had with him at the time. The improvised class was a hit with his students. Perez, along with Alberto Perlman and Alberto Aghion, trademarked the Zumba name in 2001, two years after Perez introduced his Latin-inspired fitness class in the United States.”

Although the fitness program of Zumba started in the late 1980s, Zumba has roots in Latin dances such as the merengue, salsa, cumbia and samba that date back in some cases to the 17th and 18th centuries. Flamenco, for example, originated in Spain in the 18th century. Cumbia, which originated in Colombia as an infusion of Latin and African influence, established a presence in the early 19th century. The interplay of these Latin rhythm and dance styles come together to define Zumba.

Now with all the fun we had, there was so much more that we took away! We felt great afterwards, full of happiness and realization of our muscles.

I always direct this towards business and here is my take.

Zumba for Business.

Zumba is healthy, fun and energizing activity any time, What about during work, yes! Any healthy movement is a great option at work.

The Warm-Up!

When I used to work at my earlier company, we had yoga/aerobic classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays.   I also had a Planet Fitness nearby, so usually Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings before work started, I would go to Planet Fitness and work out there for about 30 minutes.  I would do different level intervals to tone my body and shape my body.  In addition, when I worked for another company, I collaborated with a yoga instructor who owns her own business, we worked out a contract with my company and she held a class every Wednesday at our offices.

During the Covid pandemic quarantine, a lot of people were home and isolated.  Walking began to be the new activity to move around.  Some companies-initiated challenges virtually (for example step contests by counting how many steps teams made or hitting step goals).

In the meantime, I have been meeting with people seeking out coaching for motivation as they may have not found work or feel lonely needing inspiration.  I offer ideas and challenge them to seize the day.  Some of my consultations I did not charge service fees, because they are out of work, and I see a need.  I often tell people to start the day with a minimum of ten jumping jacks.  This simple activity rushes the blood and helps to get the system going to start the day.  You can always do more but it is just a start.

In the workforce, many companies offer different compensation plans, health and wellness should be included as it is a benefit to the employee and the company.  There are many options: tracking, walking, company-initiated challenges, gym on site, exercise that come to the office and others.

The Technique.

Currently, I have committed to the Zumba workout until the end of the program, I feel encourage to express why.  The overall health benefit is obvious.  The instructor, Jaidira is excellent! She has developed a method in her motivation skills that has a synergy, from the moment she walked into the room.  Her technique, in her warmup, to her drill, and dance was fantastic.  She included hip-hop, Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Cumbia, and all over body conditioning.  In the end, she instructed a cool down that was organized and efficient.

I recommend her for anything, even a party.  If you are having a get together or you’re having some type of office event, and you want to do something different try having it, ZUMBA themed.  For more information about her program and what she offers you can see her contact information below.

I came across this post below and I knew it was a done deal!

I loved it!!!!

For your Business.

What about your business, here I mentioned two different businesses that incorporated exercise, fitness, or Wellness; the word wellness is overall better health.  Having a wellness program will significantly reduce healthcare costs in companies each year.  According to Rucker, (2017) workplace wellness has been reducing organization’s costs for more than one hundred years; It is in the best interest of your business to incorporate some type of Wellness program for your employees and bottom line.

Incentives.

Here are some reasons that can inspire you.

  • Healthier Employees – Employees who engage in their health take ownership. Stress-related conditions have risen year over year.  Some caused by injuries or sickness.  Some wellness programs can offer preventive measures for employees to stay healthy or work on becoming healthy, which will increase their overall happiness and wellbeing.
  • Happier Employees – Employees who engage in activities tend to be excited in coming to work and taking part in work related activities driven by leadership.
  • Reduction in Healthcare cost – according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) (2021) worksite health programs that are implemented soundly and supply workplace health programs “can lead to 25% savings each on absenteeism, health care costs, and workers’ compensation and disability management claims costs.” Worth the investment.

Taxes.

Please note that wellness programs are taxable meaning although it can be listed in a Cafeteria 125 taxable plan. Such as a cash reward or nonmedical benefit these are taxed items that are in your gross annual payment at work taking part in a wellness program. They are not excludable from taxation as a medical benefit. But can still be added as an incentive for an overall compensation benefit.

Implementation.

There are many ways to implement a program at your company if one is not provided. Sometimes, a company may be brand new, up and coming, or have small startup cash and not have capital to invest in a gym or program. However, there are cost effective methods in health, wellness, and business. Such as, keeping track of steps, having a step challenge or if a business is virtual then they can have lunch hour aerobics through zoom. Not every program will have steep cost or require deep pockets. In today’s market, being savvy and considering your overall employees wellbeing as well as your advantage of having happier employees, healthier employees, or both, may be just what your company needs.

For You.

As an individual you can start any program in your own life including joining a gym or doing a simple video at home or even looking up one on YouTube.

Motivation.

I can totally understand that finding the motivation is a tough starting point and there are so many ways to figure out how to identify ways to motivate yourself.  Find a partner in a friend, loved one or join a group.  You can always reach out to me, and I will be available to help and coach you in the right direction.

Thank you for joining me on this journey of Fannytasticlife!  I am looking forward to hearing about your stories for your wealth of health and motivation as well as encouragement!

Life’s a movie, let the camera roll

Fast life moving, ain’t no going slow

That’s right, baby, you already know

You already know, hope you’re ready

Ready, steady, steady, rocking

Fergie

You already know!

Driving to my appointment this song comes on You already Know by Fergie ft. Nicki Minaj and I replayed it so many times I was in the hype level of Vibe.

We all go through life stress and on this journey, I was heading to a doctor’s appointment nervous, anxious but this doctor had a mazing bedside manner and empathy that I needed. When I left his office, I called my husband to check in before leaving the parking lot. I refreshed my playlist, and this song came on again “You already know” I replayed it over and over until I came home. I don’t know where I have been that I have not heard it, but I am in love with it.

I get home, and I had a package delivered on my porch. This was the cherry to my amazing day – I received a Caricatures by Akbar.

This made my day! I ordered a frame, done deal! Wow.

Professional ViBES

I say all this because these gestures of happiness create an abundance of Vibes. Positive Vibes.

According to the Oxford dictionary the definition of VIBE is a person’s emotional state, or the atmosphere of a place as communicated to and felt by others.

This word is defined by many acronyms, for my cause it is ViBE (Vitality in Business Edification)

  • Vitality – an active state of strength within ourselves.
  • in – inclusion
  • Business – production of an individual, commercial or industrial who sells a service or trade for a profit or engaged in professional activities.
  • Edification – improvement through instruction or journey of a person morally or intellectually

The classifications I speak about are Business, lifestyle, energy, and family. These drivers help me stay focused and speak to motivate and coach to finding the full circle in life. Demonstrating how to be strong and survive in many areas of business and life.

How do we utilize these concepts?

Utilizing ViBE is the moment and direction you take from A to B. On our journey in life, we are delivered and eventually pass away and in between is the life we live. Although this may sound cliché it is truly the essence of us understanding this and taking control of the vibes, we allow to a go with us on our journey. In the image below this is illustrated by both positive and negative vibes, at birth that are parallel in our life until death through the unknown factors and known factors of our journey. The known factors are what we plan, our goals, the direction we want to take or not take. The unknown is static and the unexpected which can also be positive or negative.

ViBE experience

Your Perception. How do you visualize yourself.

Recently, I was about to change my hairstyle. I was feeling a little loathing. However, when I looked at that caricature, I felt refreshed and recognized myself, for who I am. That image above is how I perceive myself. This may not be how others view me. But this is my visual idea: professional, happy, goal looking for, goal reaching, and successful reflection of self.

Understanding what my ideal feeling is, leads to the next step. Maintenance of who I am is the next step. We all do this with diets, exercise, reading, attend church, shopping, go to school, or none of the above. It is how we choose to live and navigate through our journey of life. To stay in a positive vibe, requires self-assessment and periodic check-ins of who you are. For example, do you want to change or remain the same. These evaluations that we subconsciously internalize, are more than self-esteem, as this deeply involves being honest with who you are. Setting goals, which some are attainable, some that are a challenge and reaching them or not, intentions on reaching goals are also valuable. However, recognizing when these goals are out of reach or reality can affect your self-assessment.

Reflections of self can help you in the next steps of your journey. Knowing what you like and what you don’t like and owning it by not being persuaded to change. Keeping who you want in your journey is also part of your individual growth. Knowing when to cut ties, who you keep in your circle will help you gather control over the direction of your life and benefit the people who are also on their own journeys mingling with your circle. You rejuvenation of self-help, helps you, help others, help you, reflect, as it is a cycle of reciprocation.

Self-transformation can be quite simple or extremely difficult. You may want to change your entire persona, name, location, features, or simplify and weed out the unnecessary, or control rations of what you use and consume. This is complex, the first step is to understand your goals where you want to be in the next 5, 10, 15 and 20 years of your life. Your extension should be no longer than two decades, where you can figure out your journey. Although, there will be many unknown factors you can decide how to deal with engaging at those intersections of your journey.

Many people choose not to plan at all and live day-to-day, which is also acceptable for their journey. Everyone is different and no one is giving a rule book to decipher. I chose the purposeful path in my journey as I like to stay focused. In my life I have experienced so much unknown static of obstacles that having a plan helps me stay in my homeostasis state of steady and calm energy and positive vibes. This works for me. This may not work for you. I should also mention this has taken me a lifetime to understand, develop and continuously work on.

Space – Rules of Engagement

Do you play by rules of engagement. Here is an exercise, to help you evaluate your “space”. Stand up and face a mirror, practice extending your arm out in front of you, imagine a line at the tip of your fingers going horizontally and vertically. Approximate how much of a distance this is, this is your comfort zone and personal space. Now imagine this all around you all the time. Now put your arm down and imagine this idea when speaking to people. Anyone outside this zone is the unknown zone, not the planned zone. So you have a choice to engage or not to engage. You are either interested or not interested. Simple concept. Application involves you owning and claiming your space.

Think about when you are shopping, and a salesperson says, “would you like to…” and you respond with, “I am not interested, thank you!” or “No, thank you!” this is how you would respond if you were not interested, because you are not interested. Now, if you are in person and the speaker does not get it. Completely, turn your body around or disengage in eye contact. You always have the right to not engage. When someone wants to speak to you, and you don’t want to take part. You have control over this engagement. If a person was to enter your “space” simply tell them, “I am not interested, thank you.” Just like with the salesperson in the example above. In one tone you state your needs (not to engage/not interested) then walk away, hang up the phone, respond in the text, or, in any form of communication. Be precise and concise, short and to the point, in your own way. Your message is clear. On that same point if you are interested, engage, interact, and share the vibe.

Below is an illustration of the “space” in rules of engagement with the journey cycle. Here the arm of space guides the idea of your personal comfort zone. Amongst the unknown, the chosen choice that is a mix of the unknown and known (journey) and the cycle that continuously moves forward in your lifetime. This diagram shows your choices and control over your actions and engagements.

ViBE Journey Cycle

Professional Maintenance

Now that we understand what our space involves. Think about when you are at work or your place of business and someone approaches you. Let us use a manager or a supervisor as the example. Utilizing the rules of engagement, which also apply here. In this environment we won’t say “I’m not interested” because in this type of communication, you don’t want to be labeled or considered insubordinate. However, when the person is speaking with you, you can go ahead and re direct the level of constructive feedback.

If your manager states: “hey, I like that you’ve been handing in your reports on time, but I don’t like how you do your analysis.” Your engagement may be a response like this: “Thank you for that positive feedback on my time management of projects. Specifically, what about my analysis doesn’t meet your needs so that I can go back and re-evaluate my work.” What you did there is a self-assessment and an assessment of your manager.

In the response, you addressed their accolade and issue by reiterating what they said, labeling the skill “Time management,” and level of responsibility “Projects.” You also addressed what you liked and enjoyed in the conversation. Then addressed the unclear message of what they said they didn’t like, and you asked for a detailed interpretation of what they specifically needed, which set up your rules of engagement. Next time, they will appreciate you accepting criticism professionally even if they are not.

What if you are the one that is getting the roadblock on your approach. Stop. When someone is not interested in your message, don’t push it. Redirect your plan and what is your goal when you deliver the message? Rethink your approach or find a new audience that would be interested. Is this a common interest, is this the right time to discuss this matter? Did I think my thoughts thoroughly before I engaged? Also, actively listening, before speaking will answer most of your questions, this may help you in preparing a natural response or not at all.

How you are perceived by the world. Their Perception

After reflection, self-assessment, rules of engagement and the established “YOU” factor the only item left in ViBE is how you are perceived by others. This may not be one of your concerns or this may be a plague on how you continue with your life. Everyone as I mentioned is different. People come from different family back grounds, lifestyles, adhere to rigid conservative behavior or are very liberal and all may have biases that they don’t even know they have. This is all acceptable and the key here is they belong to them and not you.

For example, I have tattoos, however when I am engaging in a professional atmosphere that includes: the doctors office, dental, nail salon, hair stylist, business partner, client, child’s teachers, etc., I will always dress professionally. Professional attire including suits, long sleeve, etc., because although I am proud of my tattoos; I don’t want a bias that they own, get in the way of a service they are supplying or receiving from my consultation be the takeaway. Any decision must be made in a level, which I am respected first. Just like I will respect them by their credentials also.
Consider the first impression rule be the application here. Down the road you can express this interest and share the vibes.

Ownership and Control

Ownership is simpler than you can imagine because in our daily lives we constantly react and play by natural rules of engagement. This can include waiting online to buy tickets for the movies. Paying for our groceries at the supermarket. Knowing to be quiet and adjust our voice in the library. Screaming, yelling, and celebrating at a sports arena. We understand that these rules already exist. The ownership is key in how we set up success in our lives this equates to the vitality and the inclusion of business with constant learnings through edification.

Lastly, when we are reaching success professionally in our environment, we will constantly need to collaborate work with teams and receive new information as well as supply feedback in assessments. To be proficient and strategic, as the subject matter expert in these relationships, it is important that they respect and trust your opinion. Demonstrating a streamlined credence in feeling for your belief, to be accepted into their community of thought, while supplying value for their own journey.

Financial Literacy – Kid’s edition – Part One

Advertisements

On today’s journey I want us to discuss something especially important in my own home and that is the topic of finances.  It is important to understand how money works and describing to children how we operate with money.

Table of Contents

    What does this mean?

Financial literacy is the ownership of skills and knowledge particularly that equips you with making educated and valuable choices regarding finances. Well, as an adult we learned the hard way as we had to get a job first and then understand how to balance our budget, pay taxes, bills and all these different aspects, which can feel like it is falling on top of our heads. Then we learn how to deal with these new responsibilities and manage it. However, imagine if you were given the gift of understanding finances ahead of the game even understanding how to manage, coordinate and move your money around so that by the time you are in adult you have some equity earned interest an increased in your dollar just by investing in yourself.

    Conversations

First wallet, always starts the excitement.

We bought this wallet at Oldtown in Orlando,FL. He loves it!

In my household with our own children, when they turned five years old and they were able to write out their own names, I started individual bank accounts for them each. You can do a savings acct for them in the meantime but if you want them to understand the process starting at five is an excellent beginning point. If they had a deposit from their grandma, uncle, birthday, tooth fairy they would walk into their bank (with me as an escort) and do a deposit at the teller; I would stand by to assist but they would understand the jargon that was being spoken to them in that transaction and be able to answer questions and begin to understand the process. This is the important piece as they are physically part of these transactions. We typically would open a savings and checking account.

    Big Picture and Expenses

We as parents concentrate on the big picture expenses for example: shelter, food, clothing, even entertainment. We also maintain anything they may need, which can include technological items such as computers, phones and gadgets for school and fun. Sometimes my kids want the latest game or a fashionable sneaker or trend and something of this nature I ask them about what they have in their allowance or what other items they want to do in the house to help work for these. So, how does this work?
There are a couple of methods, but I will give the example of low end and high end. This just indicates the parent contribution not including gifts that you may receive. Other rules of financing and banking you should consider are the following.

    TypeBank RulesRate/AmountDetails
Interest RatesCan range and payout annually or be accrued and offset monthly with your statement. 0.001% – 0.06%Some banks offer reward programs for a higher balance that can increase this.
    Check with your financial Institution.
ResponsibilityThe manager of the account is the parent.  However, when the child turns 13, they can usually download app and maintain account.  If it is a checking account since an adult is listed on the account a debit is usually issued. This rule can vary bank to bank this why financial education is important at an early age to prepare them for when they are a teenager.
    Check with your financial Institution.
FeesFees (Maintenance, overdraft, check bounce) can apply but for a child or student savings/checking account they can be waived$12 – $60To avoid Fees, you may need to keep a daily balance of $500 to $1500 after the age of 24.
    Check with your financial Institution.
TaxesIf the yearly balance does not go over 15000, taxes will not apply on the account.  Normally these deposits are post tax your individual income.  For the child, they are not required to report as you are listed on the account.  Until they are a legally recognized as an adult by the government standard and no longer a minor.$260 and up.For a single person, with no dependents at the age of 18.  They may owe $260 of a $2,500 taxable income.  Based on the IRS tax table, please speak with your accountant or taxing professional for your individual advice.
FDICEach individual account at any bank is covered for up to $250,000.00 at any time.  If you accrue more than this amounts you may need to open a different account, trust, or fund. Not covered 250,000.01Individual accounts $250,000.000
    Joint accounts $500,000.00
    Check with your financial Institution.
Life InsuranceExcellent way to plan, thinking positively.  Because this money usually has a fixed rate, that you can borrow from for braces, college, first car, down payment on a home)$35 -$100 MTHEvery provider is different.  Best to choose from are the Mutual of Omaha, Gerber, State Farm – reach out to find out more details.

Now that we have an idea of the rules. How do we figure out the payments of allowance or money for our children? First you will need to set up three accounts Checking, Savings and Insurance. Of course, these are suggestions, but you may want to take advantage early.

    TypeAvailabilitySocial Security NumberPaymentsFrequencyDown PaymentFace ValueGuardian
CheckingOnce Social Security is issued.Yes$1 – $26Bi-Weekly$25 – $1500Annual AmountParent only, at 13, a child can manage with parent, transitions at 18.
SavingsOnce Social Security is issued.YesVariesVaries$125 – $500Annual AmountParent only, at 13, a child can manage with parent, transitions at 18.
    Insurance14 days old to 17 years of age.No$35 – $100Monthly or annually$5,000 – $500,000Parent until 18

    Plan Capital for Equity

Now, have your children walk through the process with you. Understanding the game plan, in my mind is the first step. I have two options that can work for any income. They are called Low End and High End. Again, this does not include gifts or birthdays but just the payments on the parents’ end.

    TypeCheckingSavingsInsuranceOther
Low End – AllowanceBased on age$125 at beginning (year 0)
    $500 at age 18.
$35 a month (Based on policy ages 0-17 then transfer to whole life policy for adults)NA
High End – AllowanceBased on age$125 at beginning (year 0)
    $576.9 bi-weekly from (0 – 16)
$14999.40 a year total (under the $15,000 taxation mark)
$250,000.00 lifetime (for this period 0-16 years)
$100 a month (Based on policy ages 0-17 then transfer to whole life policy for adults)NA
Bonus – Tooth FairyNANANABased on age per tooth.
    Ex. 5 years old = $5.00.  20 teeth by rate = $100.
Have the child take the cash and make the deposits.

    Allowance Types

What it looks like. Be warned there are many graphs here, these are estimated.

The Low End and High End types really apply to the savings account. The idea in this plan is to make at least the low amount or any up until the high amount. You do not want to exceed on this account more than $15,000 per year but you want to have at least $125 until they turn 18 then $500 to prevent fees. Of course, if you are a millionaire, you can do whatever you want but for the average person this can meet multitudes of income ranges and teach your children how to save.

For the life insurance, this works by specific policy. As a child’s medical is usually not put into question and the application process is simplified. Anyone can open a policy as the social security number is truly not needed. As low as $35 a month to $100 a month or annually from $420 to $1200 you can buy coverage. Typically, this covers death as it is a life insurance policy. What is not told to you is that the face value, which can be $5,000 to $500,000.00 is based on an index amount. And when the policy matures you can use it, which is typically at the age of 100. When the child is turning 17, you can begin to transfer the plan to whole term for an adult and they can take over the payment. For example, if they need braces, or want to buy a car, or later a down payment on a house, depending on where you are in your policy you can borrow that cash from the policy. Whether paying it back or not, which will deduct from the face value. Other benefits, include not needing to be reported on taxes and the money is all post taxable dollars. This is how the wealthy maintain their financial health within their portfolios.

    Piggy Banks

All my children have one that is completely full of money from when they were born. We have never touched it and when they graduate high school it is theirs. One of the banks if from Tiffany’s so I ask that they manage with care. They also have individual banks like superheroes that they fill and often forget about.

I still recommend a good old fashion Piggy Bank. Once they get full, take them and deposit into their checking and savings accounts. We consider this for them as income and explain the 2/3 policy.

The 2/3 Policy is a strategy

When you are an adult, you need to pay bills that are deducted from your wages that include taxes, utility, living expenses, gift, entertainment, miscellaneous, etc.  This concept teaches the child that no matter how much money they receive they will be responsible for a “bill” payment in the amount of 2/3 of the income.  You will truly only enjoy about 1/3 of it.  To plan for this mindset, in the example below I have $100 as the hypothetical gross amount in the piggy bank.  Here 1/3 of that money goes into checking as net and 2/3 into savings where it is saved for a future bill as the deduction. Although this really isn’t going anywhere it is stashed away.

Gross = Amount of Piggy BankNet = CheckingBill (Deductions) = Savings
    $100$33.33$66.67

The best part is when they get their first paycheck/statement they will understand why they are “missing” the gross amount.

    Hi Louis!

    Advertisements

Have fun, enjoy life and dont forget to reward yourself! On this journey of Fannytasticlife!

Loving yourself is especially important, self-love and self-care as I mentioned before. The value of this increases over time within yourself. I always set goals with rewards, some of these rewards are easily attainable and some require effort, money or focus but nonetheless all these rewards are promises I keep for myself.

The other day my family and I went to The Mall at Millenia in Orlando, FL where they have many stores that you can enjoy shopping at. While shopping there it was a surprise to come across at first sight Yves Saint Laurent, Bvlgari, Rolex, Tiffany, Burberry, Chanel and then realize right in front of me was Louis Vuitton. I looked at my husband with beyond a Starbucks gaze and said pretty please may I take this moment. My husband took the kids and sat down; he knew that I recently made one of my goals a reality.

My goals was to achieve my MBA, which I am so proud of!!!!

That is me, circled in green. Yes, it is virtual but I am so happy here. Graduate 2021!

Now, a lot of people graduated this year with so much to celebrate. The reason it is important to me, is because I have promised myself this moment, my whole life! My grandmother in 1974 got her master’s and she was 45 years old at the time. She always said do not wait your whole life to have this credential. However, life has taken its toll on me, and I am now 41 and so proud that I finally achieved this goal. I had promised myself that when I achieve this goal I will buy my dream, Louis Vuitton Bag and today at Mall – this purchase was my destiny. My grandmother always insisted that I should set goals in my life and when I can reward myself. This was the behavior she often taught me with my weight and many other life goals. She insisted since I was seven that my masters were non-negotiable,

I particularly, have always studied law and you may have suspected that I would have a natural progression to a Juris Doctor (J.D.) as my grandmother always prescribed. However, I am very much into analytics and business, so I changed the course of my education to focus on Business Administration.

I wanted to focus on key elements of human capital, marketing, financing, organizational behavior, economics, management and business ethics, I have mastered the art of payroll through my own life development. Ethics are very important to me as well as integrity and we discussed these topics within my coursework as well as deep dive into communication and analytics. While working with ADP I was able to tap into my analytics skills and become a subject matter expert in Analytics and Insights. I worked very closely with the product team and enjoyed these relationships as well as stayed in contact with them through Linkedin <3

My goal was particular and detailed as I planned on not just graduating with the MBA but I had to a have earned a minimum of a 3.5 GPA. This was the important factor on whether or not I truly earned my reward.

Back to the mall, so I was waiting online and so many people were also, some who already had beautiful bags. One of the line expeditors approached me and asked, “Is this your first time?” I thought she may have asked because I took a selfie… but she was asking everyone. She shared why she valued the store and some information, and I really enjoyed her level of engagement.

While on line, I snapped this picture of me in the moment!

I finally, make it to the head of the line and I am asked to meet Natalia. Natalia, smiled through her mask, and she was elegant, classy, and professional. Her look was clean lined with a pallet of neutral, black, and white and crisp red nail polished. Stunning! We started to walk through the store, and we discussed the House of Louis Vuitton, this was very enchanting. We also discussed types like canvas and leather, monogram, classic, etc. She asked me if I knew what I wanted or did I have something in mind, which I did. I knew I wanted something that my grandmother had, like her style as the MBA is in her legacy.

I wanted a Monogram Empreinte leather in black only with a gold chain but not just any chain, we discussed many bags and then I saw the Multi Pochette in cream, but I did not say anything. She went to gather some other bags and then she unwrapped the Multi Pochette in black and I was in love and floored!!!! The chain had an iconic look similiar to Chanel. This is exactly what I have had my eyes on for the past three decades to purses similar. Some of the features I loved was the gold chain with the leather cord and the pouch attached that was removable with an addition across the shoulder strap, which made these two bags in one!!!! I saw the price and knew this was a purchase. We still looked at other bags – just in case. I thought to look at canvas and boots just to make certain I was sold, I was.

Louis Vuitton mission statement is to”embody unique savior-faire, a carefully preserved heritage and dynamic engagement with modernity and to represent the most refined qualities of Western “Art de Vivre” (The Art of Living) around the world; to be synonymous with both elegance and creativity; to blend tradition and innovation, and kindle dream and fantasy”,to be creative and aim for excellence.

This was complete white glove service and I was treated like a goddess, we shared, and laughed and over all my experience was incredible. I noticed people who came in and did not purchase were also treated amazingly and when they left were still given the respect. This confirmed my overall opinion on this experience, which was excellent.

Here is my accompanying podcast regarding goals, rewards and of course Louis Vuitton!

Here is what I purchased, which is available in store and online at Louis Vuitton

Here is a Tiktok, enjoy 🙂

Here is the bag, my reward! These pictures you can find on their website.

My next goal is Doctor of Business Administration: Management – Qualitative Research degree, which I plan on attaining by 2024. At that point I will be Dr. Fannytasticlife and yes my reward will be … can you guess … Chanel. Possibly the Chanel Quilted Lambskin Extra Large Briefcase or something like that… who knows (wink wink)

Have you ever been called a Rockstar?

Rockstar status: A’s across the board with flare!

Has to do with being … well amazing but can this be damaging with relationships?

Sometimes having the recognition is what we all desire, right? However, overstating or giving to much spotlight to an individual can create a hostility amongst other colleagues. It is important to give recognition and accolades but as a manager or supervisor creating a balanced work environment is key.

    Professional

Being professional can take on many characteristics. Being deemed a rockstar while being professional may be because an individual offers an additional character flair or compliment on top of their amazing level of work. The issue with this is it may not please everyone’s taste. Like cilantro, there are many people who love cilantro and others who swear it taste like soap. They are both correct with their opinions of cilantro, the folks that taste soap have this in their DNA (genetics) as they have an actual “variation in a group of olfactory-receptor genes that allows them to strongly perceive the soapy-flavored aldehydes in cilantro leaves.” (Petruzzello, 2021) What does this mean for the rest of us, this mean that all that you do, the way you dress, the length of your nails, this savoir faire may come off soapy to them and be labeled unprofessional. Do not take it personal it is in their DNA not to like you while the majority will and allow you to garnish many of the most popular dishes.

    Fierce

    Create a podcast episode

Sometimes being direct is necessary however according to Liz Ryan, “telling the truth when no one else in the room wanted the truth to be told” was considered unprofessional although she was more professional in her delivery than their disdain. (Ryan, 2015)

Sometimes when people say ‘That’s unprofessional’ they mean that something you’ve done or said makes them uncomfortable. Whatever you did or said might be the most professional thing anyone in your company has ever done!

    Recovery

Take it as a learning point (Baptism by fire). Not everyone will love what you do, and guess what? That is ok! A great colleague once told me if “someone tells you that I am horrible, believe them but if someone tells you that I am amazing believe them also, because it is their interaction that created the atmosphere they live in while I continue to grow from both.” I love this and I incorporated this into my lifestyle mantra.

I spoke a podcast about this topic check it out.

    Take a break!

    Advertisements

    Who? You

    What? A moment to reflect

When? Now, because when was the last time you had a break … a real bonafide break?

Why? Your mind, body and soul need it.

    Where? Anywhere

How? Stepping away for a moment.

We all get stuck in a rut, or inundated with work, deadlines, timelines, matrix, kids lunch… but when do you take a moment for you.

I decided to step away make a yummy treat that I would enjoy creating for my family.

I put on Mark Anthony station on my Amazon Music app that I have on Roku and got started.

Mark Anthony station for the cooking mood.

I usually make a homemade Recaito every week for the house as a base for some dishes I prepare, like this yummy one. Bolitas de Mofongo without frying. If you need a break and want to jump into something yummy here is a recipe for you.

Bolitas de Mofongo – first the ingredients.

    • 4 Plantains (little past green)
    • Recaito (Recipe) 1 tablespoon
    • Pork Grinds/Chicharron (your favorite, plain) or without.
    • Farmers Ribs or boneless pork (small package)
    • 2 Eggs
    • Corn flour 2 tablespoons
    • Olive Oil
    • Salt 1 teaspoon
    • Milk 2% – 1/4 cup.
    • Water 1/3 cup with salt 1 teaspoon.
    • Flour 1 cup.
    • Water 3 cups
    • 1 chicken Bullion

    Bolitas de Mofongo – Steps.

Should look like this. (Borrowed Picture)
    • Grate the plantains – and place the water 1/3 cup with salt 1 teaspoon. *UPDATE* Squeeze and drain thoroughly.
    • Add milk, eggs, recaito, corn flour (add more cornflour for a consistency that works for you. Mix thoroughly.
    • Roll into a ball shape incorporating the pork grinds into the middle and dip into flour so it is completely dusted, place to side. If you are very technical it should be no more than two ounces.
    • Chop up pork meat into small cubes.
    • Now, in a pot (Imusa prefered) add olive oil and the cubed pork. until browned and then remove but leave the flavor and bits there.
    Imusa pots (my favorite)
    • Add 1 chicken Bouillon and 3 cups of water. Let it boil, this is essential it needs to boil.
    • Once boiling add the balls into the pot. When cooked they should float. Lid off.
    • Now add back in the pork and let it simmer at a less temp.
    • Once incorporated evenly cover and place off heat to settle.
    • This is delicious with Arroz blanco (white rice) and Avocados.

Let me know what you think? While eating this check out my latest podcast “Take a break!”

Aromatherapy has been proven to help people through the senses of smell. I believe some of the calming scents have helped me with stress and anxiety. We see this in products for children that are listed with having lavender and for sleepytime and for mornings we see fragrances that have citrus to bring burst of energy.

BeezKneez – visually beautiful with honey and oatmeal.

I have always loved certain styles of essential oils and scents like candles, and lotions. I consider myself an Apothecary for certain bedtime bath routines from having children. Enjoying baths, bubbles and the calming effects I started created bath bombs. My children have always had sensitive skin, slight eczema and or easily irritated because of this now that I make bath bombs, they test them, give me their full report and I create it.

From doing this I have gotten request so I posted them on my shop and now on Etsy. Just recently I was given shelf space at the Valley Pharmacy & Surgical store in my town. This has brought me an overwhelming sense of joy and fulfillment to have someone believe in my family and our product.

    Body, mind, sprit…

The scent of a woman, the musk of a man the part of our nose that delivers a message to our brain is life changing on this journey of fannytasticlife!

According to Harvard Gazette, Colleen Walsh says that “smells are handled by the olfactory bulb, the structure in the front of the brain that sends information to the other areas of the body’s central command for further processing. Odors take a direct route to the limbic system, including the amygdala and the hippocampus, the regions related to emotion and memory.

Scents that catch a woman’s attention in various studies range from vanilla, peppermint, sandalwood, pastries, coffee, lavender and cinnamon. Where as the scents that catch a mans attention are quite different and more complex for example most men spoke of a natural scent they liked from their partner or lily, rose oil, vanilla, vetiver, oranges, musk, black licorice, fruity notes, donuts, peppermint, lavender and pumpkin pie and jasmine.

The range for men tend to be tied to a memory while the range for women tend to be tied to a want. Either way I decided to create bath bombs that fulfilled the need of both and matter of fact all.

Affectionately known as FanBombz they carry whimsy of a scent that wont over power and create a headache and will soothe to and calm or energize. My research surrounded popular scents at first but I also discovered interesting factors about safety and awareness. All my bath bombs are handmade with ingredients that once in the bath tub dilutes and causes no harm.

Me working in the lab 🙂

    Basic

The base of all my bath bombs start with baking soda, a starch (depending on the order can be milk, coal, corn) then I add my fragrance and oil mixture. This can be multiple combinations of essential oil, or just one. An oil for combining like Jojoba, olive, coconut, aloe, almond and mineral oil.

For different fun colors I will include a food coloring based on the product. Sometimes I add a texture like honey, almonds, oatmeal and sugar sprinkles, sugar and salt depending on the product. I use witch hazel as an astringent for the oil. Some ask for alcohol, and that I use only in a small amount but I try to not to include. Sometimes I add herbs and spices like turmeric or marjoram and others creating an Ayurvedic recipe that my sons doctor once told me to do for his skin. Water will take the bubbles out of the product so I try to keep the water amount little to none. I always list all my ingredients on my packing and advertising.

Sensuality is one of the request I get or questions regarding will this make me feel a certain way. Jasmine is an aphrodisiac and so is clary sage, lavender, sandalwood, ylang, ylan because they tend to be relaxers and stimulant in scent. Although some of my bombs like BottomLover, Fannylicous have some of these notes the sensuality comes from the person. I won’t guarantee that they will make you feel a certain way but you will enjoy the experience.

Spa time, is one of my favorite times. Pedicure, manicure, threading, massage … sign me up. Having a good bath is also on that list. Some of my FanBombz like Full Circle tend to have the eucalyptus need of a spa and Peacock for the lavender.

    Full Circle – quite relaxing.

If you are looking for CBD oil, honestly the closest thing I have is Dr. Scholls Hemp Seed Epsom salt in the Cheech FanBombz, which is relaxing.

Affordability is also another question I get asked alot about. The retail at the pharmacy is all shelf priced. Anything Custom will start at more of a premium price because it is created for the person. I often offer on Etsy free shipping over $35.00 and usually I promote a monthly coupon for a percentage off a certain price.

Fun time is also a time for the kids. Some of the handcrafted unique bath bombs have a water toy for an additional level for the kids. I offer dinosaurs, princess rings, army men, unicorns, duckies just simple fun.

All the bath products are weighed and inventory is priced accordingly. I offer multiple sizes from the regular 2.1 ounce size mooncakes that can go from 4 to 8 ounces. I also offer a small version that is 1.2 ounces and if you are looking for value this is sold in a trio and would be the best value per dollar.

Love them all! (Oreo and Fannylicous)

Most bathbombs after they cure have a shelf life of 6 months. After this period they tend to crumble. Usually you can break them down in a jar and use them as a scrub. I wouldn’t suggest mixing various scents because that can get funky. Also, if it has a strange smell, don’t use it. Like any product it should have a clean crisp package scent.

I always get told that people wish they had a bath but they live in an place that only has a shower. Well, because I have a shower a developed a shower salt called Indulgence Saltz. Same amazing scent with out the buzz of the fizz and frills. I sell these in a single pack or triple pack. These are great because you get the scent stimulation whether it is calm energy or relaxing vapor in the shower.

Hello! Mooncake in background and Indulgence Saltz centered. Inspired by Audrey hepburn, Breakfast at Tiffany’s

I suggest these products have oils in them and you should take precaution when getting out of the tub or shower and rinse off. You will notice how silky your skin feels. A quick rinse, will wash the residue from the bath and maintain all your softness. This is because the baking soda used in the mixture creates the softening effect with the epson salt. For those of you who use the Indulgence Saltz you will notice how sweet your feet feel.

My Shop is tied to my website and I also sync it with Etsy. Etsy will get all the products first, inclduing bath bombs, shower salts, soaps, scrubs. This retail gets carried over to my Fannytasticshop also. My retail at the Pharmacy in my town will be updated weekly.

The distribution and creation of my products are based on supply, demand and seasonal picks. If you see all of a sudden an items that is not seasonal and is uniques that is because when I receive a custom order usually a client will want two to four of the bombs, however ever for every batch I make it produces 12-18 bombs, and this is what gets carried over to retail.

I am so happy to share this information and I hope I answered many of your questions that I received from my BONUS podcast this week. Please reach out as I am so happy and in love with our retail of FanBombz and thank you for joining me on this journey of Fannytasticlife.

I want to take this moment to thank my husband who has been my biggest support and continued cheer in my corner, he is very modest and humble and would not want any shine but MUHA!

    La Paz, Bolivia, 2011

¡Jallalla! Hello everyone! (This word is both Quechua and Aymara, and apart from being a greeting it conveys a wish for hope and a fulfilling life). awesome ¡Qué chala! That’s Awesome Está pintudo. Thats Amazing! Bolivia, La Paz

When life was simple; Fanito trusted in her mommy and daddy to always have the answers and lead the way.

The stories from my blog and podcast are all from the heart and I hope they can inspire you. To find answers, determine resolutions. or just have a good laugh.

This story is not about my life but my perspective of my father Ramiro Fanor Alanez Melean, and his testimony.

Who he was through my eyes.

Have you ever met someone that although they had a hard life, they brought joy, happiness, and charisma to the time you spent with them? My father had a patience that he tolerated my annoying behavior and loved me the way I needed love from my father. He had a strong level of discipline, respect, and humor. He protected me, taught me to protect myself. Loved my mother in a way that let me know how I wanted to be loved.

My Dad, me and my sister (top to bottom)

He had funny interesting sayings’ that would catch me off guard. He would see someone up to no good and would yell to them “Caught you with the meat in your mouth” this was a reference that he would say to his dogs if they took food, I knew from being with him.

“Caught you with the meat in your mouth!”

    Ramiro Fanor

He was and true artist, visionary, designer and musician. He loved crafting leather and making show stopping outfits. My mother would make dresses for us and paint. They would work together in out small 1 bedroom apartment on 11th street – in a passion of love and artistry!

My father was extraordinarily strong and tall to me as a little girl. He stood 5’11, 170 lbs. He would tell people 5′ 12″ 160… for whatever reason this made me laugh. I would say to him, “why not just say 6 feet tall?”, and he would respond, “well that would be a lie…”

    My handsome father

He always kept his hair long and luxurious, my mother braided his hair, shampoo and conditioned it. This was their ritual. He was the one who combed my hair and taught me to take care of my ends, he would say, “Fanito, you split before your ends do…” it is these memories that make me smile.

“Trash don’t pick it up, don’t throw your life away!”

    Ramiro Fanor

Family time with my father , 2008

My father gained weight later in life when my mom had gotten extremely ill, but he was still very handsome. Sometimes my teachers would ask me if he were single… shocked, I would roll my eyes, and tell my mother. Life was simple back then, but there was so many struggles he went through that I was not sensitive to, until later in life that we had a fight of a lifetime over a human, and his rights.

    “…But do you love me…”

    Ramiro Fanor

He would sing so beautifully. He on guitar, my mother the piano, me the drums and my sister dancing.

“Sharp, in my suit and fierce is my knife”

    Ramiro Fanor

Always a smooth cat, he would say, “Alley cat” he would always dress for the occasion with whatever he had. Ask me about a good jacket, fedora, and pump – my dad would check to make sure we were “…ironed, presses and pushed pause on the evil eyes.” his words.

    What happened?

In 2008, my father was living with me in Brooklyn, NY. I had my first son, and he would travel to Manhattan to pick up his granddaughter (my sisters’ daughter) from school and bring her to her grandma’s house (her dads’ mom) each day. My sister had gotten him an unlimited MetroCard where she would refill, and he always had a way to travel within the city. He was a widower and retired worker. It was in this time he was being a grandfather and enjoying his later years. On one instance in the beginning of 2009, he was traveling on a Friday to do his usual route to pick up his granddaughter. He never arrived.

We all were worried; he did not answer his phone or contact us. In this period in his life, he was not his usual healthy, fast, and strong papa. He was older with a bad back that he had just had an operation on from a slip and fall, and he had a bad liver, bad arm and in medicine. We were extremely concerned for his safety and wellbeing.

Friday evening, I received a call that my father had been arrested and was at Rikers in New York. The officer explained that it was a mistake. A group of young adults jumped the turnstile on the G line in the transit system and the transit police did a sweep and arrested all that was there. He then said the following: “Unfortunately, your father was there and because it is a Friday, he won’t be released until Monday.”

I went on Monday to get him and they told me that ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) had picked him up. Now, he was at Varick. I tried to understand why, and they said because he is not a citizen, any crime that violates moral turpitude is instant deportation. My sister called everywhere, and we constantly ran around.

I explained his legal status and right to be in this country, I explained it was a wrongful arrest. They seemed relieved and gave me paperwork to take to the other precinct in Brooklyn and have them fill it out for his release. I could not believe how simple it seemed, so I ran over to Brooklyn and spoke to the arresting officer. He refused to fill out the paperwork, because he had said that he needed to make a quota. I spoke to his sergeant and they all admitted that it was “Unfortunate,” but their hands were tied.

After a couple of hours, I left and headed to Varick street to see my father. They would not let me see him and asked for his passport, declaration of his country of origin and followed those demands with the threat that he would be deported to either his country with the documents or Mexico without. It just so happens that I was studying Immigration Law, and I proclaimed that not only was I his daughter an American Citizen with the right to claim him, but I was also his advocate and legal representation. It was in that moment they allowed me to see my father. He seemed physically shaken and slightly roughed up. He was in an orange jump suit, which should have been light blue to signify the alleged crime. I insisted that he needed a new jumpsuit, commissary, and the right for visitation. They agreed to visitation on the spot but said because he was not a citizen that the constitution did not apply to him. My sister and I acted quickly, reaching out to get a petition, a bill in his name, to everyone that we could.

The next day I went to see him, and he was moved to New Jersey, then Pennsylvania, than Delaware and finally Brownsville, TX. It is there where he stood for the next year. As we fought and were not entitled to see him. He could only call us and at the time we did not know that his calls were recorded.

One day a nurse from Brownsville called me and told me that my father was in her infirmary. He was beaten by a guard and raped. She said she was afraid for her life and that she warned us to be careful that we told him anything. The next phone we got was from an officer in Florida, she said that she was his assigned detaining officer. Through her travel from Texas to Florida, she felt horrible and wanted to help him. He was not entitled to contact anyone, so she called from her cell phone to alert us that he was being deported in 15 minutes. Nothing we can do.

    F1 Student Visa

At the young age of 15, Ramiro Fanor (Fanor), who was born in La Paz, Bolivia and resided there with his mother Guillermina (Guiche), father (Walter) and three siblings Olga, William, and Tico. Loved their life, their father a politician who was quite established and wealthy for that community and time. Fanor’s, father was trying to control a potential revolution in a campaign to unseat that current President and in that uproar, he was unfortunately assassinated by the town center hall. In fear of threats that were coming to her family, Guiche wanted to flee to Cochabamba, Bolivia. In the midst she was able to attain an F1 Students Visa for young Fanor to travel to the United States for an education legally. He arrived in the US and would often correspond with his mother via mail or a monthly call to let him know what he was doing and how well he was progressing in his education.

Legally in the United States he was able to establish himself where he finally met Shari Sue Gerloven, where they had three children. Sam who passed away after birth, Willamina and Fanny. They lived together in the Lower East Side of New York City. Although they married, Shari was unable to sponsor Fanor to be a citizen because she was disabled and needed to show that she was able to provide for him. However, he was approved for amnesty through the incident prior to his arrival. He collaborated with a lawyer to grant the Amnesty but through malpractice the lawyer took advantage of Fanor and never filed his paperwork. The lawyer received payment through barter. Fanor would work on constant project in his home to pay the retainer. When the projects were finally complete from the years of 1988 to 1997. The lawyer admitted to never doing the application.

Unfortunately, Shari passed away in 2000 and it was at that point a new law had passed that granted him Widowers status.  He was grandfathered into this law that allowed him a stay without Citizenship and he was invited to apply for Citizenship if he wanted to.  At that pint he was grieving from the loss of his wife and in 2008 decided he wanted to file.  Sadly, he was picked up prior to filing and wrongfully arrested.

    Prodigal Son.

In 2011, Fanor was deported from Florida to Bolivia at the age of 62. After legally arriving, residing, and adapting to the United States and becoming a legal resident for forty-seven (47) years. My sister and I ran to Bolivia to be present for our father. The reuniting was bittersweet and heart wrenching, having to leave out children and families to be there and finally having to leave our father to return home. My sister was pregnant with her third baby and my baby was not even ten months old.

    Life after deportation.

He finally was able to find his family, his mother, my grandmother Guiche laid in her bed unable to move. After we left, she died but, in his care, and love. He was tortured in detainment and seemed happy that he was able to find any sort of humanity.

“We may be apart but we are still on earth together.”

    Ramiro Fanor

In La paz, Bolivia, with our father after three years.

We made many trips all over the next decade to see one and other in Ecuador, Dominican Republic and once even met in Columbia. The Dominican Republic trip was special because it was a resort where we not only reunited his children, grandchildren but relaxed in a beautiful place.

Saying goodbye to Papa Fanor during that trip.

His mother while he was in the United States always paid his taxes and maintained his information in Bolivia. When he arrived, they knew where he had been, and he was able to not have any political issues as well as attain retirement. He was also the name deeded to his mother’s land. As a property owner he had interest, rights, and other benefits.

    Ready to come home.

Reaching out to the homeland security, many immigration offices, and other agencies to confirm when my father could return was a tedious process that had to be done many times. In 2017, I had spoken with a woman who looked at the status of ICE and his overall file and said he has no ban that is active. As she mentioned, he can file for a tourist visa, she said that while he was detained his file was updated that showed previous amnesty application and currently widowers act (particularly 5 U.S. Code § 8442) had been applied. She suggested that if we applied for a travel visa he can come and stay for up to six months and renew yearly she also mentioned he can plan to be sponsored by one of his daughters and gain citizenship. My sister and I were overjoyed and started talking and discussing next steps.

I called my father and could not get a hold of him. I wasn’t sure what was going on. I would speak to him every day or about at 11:15. He would call me 10:15 his time 11:15 my time as those numbers held a lot of love in our hearts. My mother’s birthday was 10/15 and we often symbolized these numbers in remembrance of her.

Weeks were beginning to pass, and I could not get in touch. I tried contacting everyone in Bolivia, including police, hospitals, and any family that would speak to me. It was not until my sister went on a trip with her family for her daughters sweet 16, that we unfortunately could not attend and stayed home that I finally received a call.

At first, I was excited and wondering what my dad was up to and why he had not called, completely unlike him. I also wanted to share the good news of his granddaughter and of the status. It was not him; it was my cousin. Who is brother’s son that told me to call his dad and that it was important? My family stretches all over the globe and I had wished that we had tighter connections so to get this call was strange as I normally did not speak very often to some of my family but wish that our relationship was tighter and stronger. I called my uncle, while sitting in the back of porch of my house. He answered, the call started and he greeted me like he always did. “Hola, Chiquitita Fanito, how are my little love?” His voice was so tender, all of a sudden I could hear his breath, he was upset, I could hear the wind, My in-laws looked at me with curiosity and he said as time froze in that instance, “my love I am sorry to tell you this but your father has died” I could not breath/ He then stated ” he had a heart attack that was Anemia induced” … I choked and screamed so loud; I can feel my heart pounding now typing this. “This is not true, Tio…please… I have plans… he is coming… we made arrangements…please stop, this is not true…put him on the phone” … I looked to my Mama (mother-in-law) and Papa (father-in-law) and said, “help me, please help.”

I could not believe this and my sister I could not call her. My husband and I and all cried… why? Later his family in La Paz and Cochabamba told me it was lies and that he was murdered or held as a prisoner for the land. One cousin checked all the hospitals and said it is not true he has been kidnapped. I could not believe or know what to believe… unfortunately to this day.

    Light in our heart.
    Saturday, September 9, 2017 – General Mass – RIP

We gathered at his favorite church and spoke to all who would listen to the testimony regarding his life, who he was and how he would have wanted to be remembered.

    Though your heart is aching.

To all: He also loved his family; I really should mention he often spoke about his nephews and nieces and cousins. He loved them and would ask me every day to make sure you tell my Matty, Joey and Baby Jessy that we will be silly again. How is my Susie he always said. He also would say do not forget to send a mail on the line (yes, he did) to my nephew and niece on the face program on my phone. In his way he wanted to stay connected to his family. He would ask if I saw or spoke to his friends, Doug, Joaquin, Darlene, and if I go to 11th street make sure to give Pocholo a hug and Daisy, her son Mike and the block as they are family. He often mentioned Takia and said – I wish I can hear her smile. His heart was huge and always taking in new friends and loving old ones. Certain friends we grew up with he would tell me was his children because he wanted them to have love and certain family he constantly mentioned like Angelina, Milqueza, Mireya, Mireya, Nadia, Jamal, CJ, Cynthia, Kitty, Diego, Leslie, Suhad and all. He would tell me that my husband was an amazing man, and he loved his brother like his own son, his Ruby and his gorgeous wife and family. He also mentioned that he loved his new best friend Pepe (my husband uncle). He also mentioned to make sure to check on Mama Olga, my sister’s mother-in-law. He wanted me to always call her, especially on her birthday. Her daughter Jolly he said was gorgeous and her husband Tone was his man (close friend) and they had beautiful children. He always gave compliments that he felt and meant, he loved so hard with his heart in one hand and sword of valence in the other. I have so many testimonies of his but for these I hope touches and inspires.

To his grandchildren: Your grandfather spoke about you every day. He loved you more than you can ever imagine. He was in pain that he could not hold you and love you and play with you and be your grandfather. Do not let any day pass that you feel sad because he would then tell you “smile, though your heart is aching, even though it is waking.” he loved to quote music lyrics and often would insert in many moments of conversation, remember him and fill your heart always.

To my sister: We were loved. We had the best father one could ever desire. He went into battle for us. Not only did he teach us that he loved our mother and he taught us that he worshipped our mother. Our father loved you very much and always spoke of you highly. Please dont ever forget his love and always tell his stories like we do to keep his memory alive. I love you and pray each day for him and our family!

The only thing that has brought me peace is that he was reunited with my mom, his son, and mother… But I had no answers to give. Thank you for joining me on this journey of Fannytasticlife.

You may have heard my dog barking in the background, which I pretend to not notice. I am a mom, a mom of three boys, two dogs, two turtles, one fish and a partridge in a pear tree.

We got Coco back in 2014, he was a sweet little Bichon Frise who started to show, little by little his wicked side. Cute, silly and wicked always plotting. He was pretty smart for example. He always seems to know things and how to communicate. I honestly feel that he speaks fluent mommy as when I talk to him he reacts. he can also be very demanding as he will slam his water down or insist on being a nudzh he gets that from me.

During the pandemic like many other people, with empty activities and time to sit still, we adopted a puppy\, changed his name to Ginger Snap and never looked back. He was super tiny, and they told us he was the runt of the litter. He would probably be very small. However, his paws were huge and that is a tell tell sign of big things to come. Ginger grew so fast it was shocking. So did his hunger, energy and poop… it felt like aprade clearing hourly. He loves to play and play and did I mention… perhaps … play. His energy was amazingly fierce, strong and determined. He needs to be walked two miles in the morning and night. When it started to get cold, we had to do more activities in the house.. oy vey… thank god we have energetic children.

    COCO

The sneaky silent type… who creeps up on you, and tangle your feet but affectionate loves to get scratched and snuggled and like a cat scurries away.

They are pretty funny and loving always loyal and although my nose does tickle, my allergy pill will help me year round. They make it worth it and now I need to clean more than usual. So, you will always see a mop not to far away and ready to go.

    GINGER

Beyond spunky, this little pup came into our lives and when we received him he was truly the runt of the litter. .. Now, he is almost a year old and he is as big as a horse.

Some happy moments that are worth the mention. With this year the light of life, family, simple joy is what brings happiness to us. Getting back to the important factors of life!

We made some fun videos on TikTok (above) of them check it out it is bubbly like them. Do not forget to check out the podcast (below), you won’t be disappointed.

Gag me with a spoon, like… Patty Jenkins, director got the comedy and adventure totally tubular!

If you have not seen WW84 yet I will not ruin it for you. However, I will tell you my favorite scenes and tell you why I loved this movie and share the amazing color of it all. I will also share why Wonder Woman means so much to me on this journey of Fannytasticlife!

    WW84 Poster

    WW84

“You are stronger than you believe. You have greater powers than you know.”

    Wonder Woman, WW84 Movie

    Total rad scenes dude!

Our loving hero returns Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) and her handsome and charming beau Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) with new characters Cheetah (Kristen Wiig) and Maxwell Lord (Pedro Pascal) complete a fun filled adventure that was colorful, entertaining and gave us the superhero escapade that we needed.

What we also gained was that 1980’s feel, the silly and corny joy that we all loved from that era, which brings me to my favorite scene. I had so many scenes that I adored and my stand out was when they had the radical, totally tubular, like for-sure scene at the Mall. May I just say as an 80’s born lady I loved this!!!

Each scene was energetic, powerful and what I needed.

    Running with new power!

Visually the movie was beautiful and yes there was romance, tears and joy… from me watching.

    A walk in D.C.

Loved Steve Trevor! He really brought an innocent humor to it all. Very caring, loving and heart wrenching. I don’t renounce his fashion at all! Bodacious!

    Meow mama…

My second favorite scene or should I say scenes, was actually the growth and development of Kristen Wiig who played Cheetah, yes gurrl!!!! From new gal, to power doctor to fierce fashionista meow and finally apex predator herself!!! Love it, you will also if you are a true fan! This Cheetah was no KittyCat. She went from frizz ball to defined curl and then fur ball, all with allure. I loved the scene when she became 20/20 with cat like reflexes… definitely, you will see me with the knock off version of her shoes… and Gals!

I also loved Pedro Pascal who plays Maxwell Lord. Very handsome and you may remember him from Game of Thrones and from Narcos. He is originally from Santiago, Chile and has that sleek style and gorgeous nose I adore… just in case you were wondering he is 5’11 and 45 also I should mention he played a dreamer or wisher and he reminded me of a Elvis type character who had the infomercial charms of that era.

    Wish granted!

Thank you GQ, handsome depcited here Pedro Pascal

    May 12, 2020 British edition.

Also, to end the rumor they did not model Maxwell Lord, who was originally from the comic after Donald Trump says Gal when being interview in Variety. “…But we never tried to mimic anybody else. We never tried to mimic Trump or anything.” Gal Gadot in Marc Malkin interview in Variety, December 23, 2020.

“Get whatever you want however you can, and you’re entitled to it…”

Pedro Pascal, within interview with Leah Greenblatt, Entertainment, December 23, 2020

    Righteous, most triumphant!

Some other mentions that I adored, was simple “Hey Jake” (Kelvin Yu) loved the interaction here and you will get this when you see it.

At one point, during the movie I had my face mask over my eyes… that was towards the end but totally worth the mention.

Loved the protection of children. The reliance of good in the world. This movie reminded me of hope even in 2020.

    Original Gangsta circa 1975.

“There is a part of ‘Wonder Woman’ inside me and inside every woman, kind of that secret self that women share. We are all caretakers, giving birth, caring for our children and companions and loved ones.”

    Lynda Carter

Lynda Carter, my child hero does she make an appearance… well you will need to wait and see. If you know me you know I love fashion. If you take a look back on my looks you will see a charm that I always use as my foundation and this is my Dianaprincesk looks… like these.

    Family time at the movies.

My family and I, at the movies Christmas weekend. We are just having fun and enjoying the night of #WW84.

We had to make a last stop and take the picture with this amazing colorful poster. Maybe we were the last to leave the the theater.

Rockaway, AMC – please note we were all masked, socially distanced and the movie theater was at a low capacity, not to mention super clean.

    Moments of Wonder Woman Mom.

When I was a child my father call me Wonder Woman, always. He had other names for me (Fanito, Chiquitita, Blaki…) but when I was in pursuit of justice he would say I was his Wonder Woman. This has always stuck with me through the years and I have continued to have this perspective on life. Also have fun emboding the fashion of it all.
